Payroll Connector

The Island.is Connector for Wise Payroll delivers employee payslips directly to their digital mailboxes on Island.is — no email addresses required, legally equivalent to physical delivery, accessible via the Island.is app or portal.

How it works

1. Payroll is processed in Wise Payroll (Business Central)
2. The payroll manager sends payslips individually or runs the Send Payslips batch report
3. A PDF is generated for each payslip
4. Each employee is identified by their kennitala (SSN)
5. Documents are stored in your secure storage and delivered via CentaraIQ to Island.is
6. Employees receive a notification and view the payslip in their Pósthólf

Already-sent payslips are automatically skipped — safe to run the batch report repeatedly.

Sending options

Tracking

Each payslip has a Sent to Island.is flag set to Yes after successful delivery. The Centara Messages log provides detailed status including errors and API responses.

Employee experience

Employees don’t need to do anything to receive payslips:

1. Island.is sends a notification (email or SMS)
2. The employee logs into island.is or the Island.is mobile app with their electronic ID
3. The payslip PDF is in their Pósthólf

Setup

1. Prerequisites

• Centara Base installed and configured
• Wise Payroll 25.0.0.0 or later

2. Install the connector

Extension Management → install Island.is Connector for Wise Payroll

3. Enable in Payroll Setup

Navigate to Payroll Setup → Island.is Setup section:

• Enable “Enable Island.is for Wise Payroll”
• Optionally set Pay Slip Report No. (leave blank for the default report)

4. Verify employee data

Each employee must have a valid SSN (kennitala) in format XXXXXX-XXXX (10 digits). This must match their Island.is registration.

5. Test with a single payslip

1. Open Payslips View
2. Select a payslip where Sent to Island.is = No
3. Actions → Island.is → Send to Island.is
4. Verify the flag changes to Yes
5. Check Centara Messages for delivery status

6. Batch sending (monthly payroll)

1. Search for Send Payslips
2. Check Send to Island.is on the Options tab
3. Set date filters for the payroll period
4. Click OK
5. Review the confirmation — already-sent payslips are skipped automatically

Limitations

• Each employee must have a valid Icelandic kennitala
• Requires Centara Base and Wise Payroll
• Failed messages require manual review in Centara Messages
